Un posad (en en ruso: посад) era un campamento de colonos en Rusia en los siglos X a XV. Normalmente su poblacion eran artesanos y comerciantes, y se les llamaba posadskiye lyudi (gente del posad).

Muchos posads se convirtieron en pueblos. Aquellos que tenian una fortaleza recibian el nombre de esta, como Nagorny Posad (campamento sobre la montanna), o Kazanski Posad, centro historico de Kazan. Los que crecian alrededor de un monasterio lo hacian de este, como Sergiev Posad, que vine del Monasterio de la Trinidad y de San Sergio.
