"Big Long Now" es una canción de la banda de grunge Nirvana, grabada en Diciembre de 1988 durante las sesiones del álbum debut de la banda, Bleach,[1] pero no fue incluida en al álbum debido a que (de acuerdo al productor Jack Endino) el cantante y guitarrista Kurt Cobain creía que habían suficientes canciones "lentas y pesadas" en el álbum.[2]

Versiones que Circulan

Pese a que la canción nunca fue interpretada en directo, la versión original fue incluida en el álbum recopilatorio Incesticide en 1992, y una versión en video grabada durante un ensayo en la casa de la madre del bajista Krist Novoselic durante uno de los días de las sesiones fue incluida en el DVD del box set With the Lights Out. Ambas versiones incluyen al baterista Chad Channing.

Curiosidades

  • Big Long Now se cree fue interpretada en algún concierto de 1988, porque esta circulando un bootleg llamado "xx-xx-88 Mistery Show", pero el cual según fanáticos de Nirvana la voz del cantante no es muy parecida a la de Kurt Cobain
  • Rob Kader, un fanático de Nirvana, le preguntaron en el concierto del 10 de junio del 89 en el The Blue Gallery en Portland, que canciones quería que tocaran, y el pidió "Big Long Now" a Jason Everman, pero luego Krist dijo "No podemos tocarla mas, Luego el fue al concierto en el Crocodile Cafe, el 4 de octubre del 92 y el pidió la canción de Nuevo, pero la banda todavía se rehusaba a tocar la canción
