El rakugo (落語?) es un entretenimiento japonés basado en monólogos humorísticos, cuyos orígenes se remontan al siglo XVII.

En este género, el intérprete está siempre arrodillado sobre un cojín y viste un kimono.

Descripción

Puede decirse del rakugo que son como una serie de anécdotas humorísticas, una narración jocosa de referencias cotidianas junto con otras de siglos de antigüedad. Últimamente se están dando representaciones de rakugo en inglés, en los teatros yose de Tokio, sobre todo en Asakusa.
