Appeal to Reason salió a la luz el 7 de octubre de 2008 por la banda de Hardcore melódico americano Rise Against. Es el quinto disco de la banda y el cuarto disco que sacan a gran nivel (los otros tres fueron Revolutions per Minute, The Unraveling y The Sufferer & the Witness) y el primero que graban con su nuevo guitarrista Zach Blair.

Historia de un disco

En enero de 2008 se anunció en la página web oficial del grupo que habían vuelto al estudio tras su éxito con The Sufferer & the Witness y después de haber finalizado su gira. En una entrevista ofrecida por la banda el mayo de 2008 confiaron que estaban trabajando por el mismo sello discográfico que en The Sufferer & the Witness. En julio de 2008 anunciaron que el disco se llamaría Appeal to Reason (en español "Súplica a la razón"). Desde entonces aparecieron los videoclíps de Re-Education (Through Labor) y Audience Of One que podían se vistos en la Web [www.riseagainst.com]. Finalmente el 19 de agosto editaron el sencillo Re-Education (Through Labor) cuyo videoclip puede verse en Youtube [1]. El 7 de octubre de 2008 salió el disco al mercado.
