Punch y Judy

Punch y Judy son los dos personajes principales de la tradición inglesa de los títeres de cachiporra. A diferencia del resto de tradiciones, Mr. Punch sigue hablando con el peculiar tono de voz que da el uso de la lengüeta (a veces real, aunque hoy tiende a ser fingida); y la historia es cerrada: por lo general se repite sin cambios en todas las representaciones y todos los teatrillos. El argumento es tan violento, con varios asesinatos grotescos y esperpénticos, que --pese a ser una sencilla obra de títeres, claramente teatral y burlesca-- su representación ha sido prohibida en varias etapas de la historia inglesa.
