Anthony Braxton (n. el 4 de junio de 1945 en Chicago, Illinois, EE. UU.). Es un compositor, saxofonista, clarinetista, flautista, pianista y filósofo. Ha creado un amplia y compleja obra. Aunque no es muy conocido entre el público, Braxton es uno de los más prolíficos compositores de música de EE. UU., habiendo publicado más de 200 discos. Entre la gran cantidad de instrumentos que utiliza en sus composiciones destacan la flauta, el saxofón (sopranino, soprano, alto, baritone, bajo y contrabajo) y el clarinete (soprano, contrabajo).
