Neils Children (también escrito NEiLS CHiLDREN) son una banda de <rock inglesa> que se formó en 1999 en el Harlow College en Essex, donde John Linger (guitarra/voz), Brandon Jacobs (batería/coros) y Tom Hawkins (bajo/coros) estudiaban. El nombre de la banda proviene de la obsesión de John con la banda de proto-punk de los '60 'John's Children'; el nombre 'Neil' proviene del apodo del bajista Hawkins.

Historia

Empezaron siendo una banda de freakbeat y dieron varios conciertos en la escena Mod Londinense como en el Harlow Square Rock Contest. En el 2000 Hawkins se fue de la banda y tomó su lugar James Hair. Para ese entonces la banda decidió mudarse a Londres.

En el 2004 lanzaron el single 'I Hate Models' con el que consiguieron un reconocimiento entre la escena underground, tanto que la canción forma parte de una compilación de XFM.

En Diciembre el 2005 el bajista James fue remplazado por Keith Seymour (que formaba parte de Hope of the States) y le dio un nuevo sonido a la banda, denominándose como post punk, psycodelic y new wave.

En el 2007 la banda recibió más atención gracias a la explosión de la banda The Horrors, con quienes estuvieron de gira en Abril. Ambas bandas son amigos, John Linguer es amigo de Rhys 'Spider' Webb desde antes de formar las bandas y a pesar de tener la misma estética, no son los mismo estilos de música.

Actualmente están en proceso de grabación de su último disco, que será titulado 'Pop:Aural' y será editado (según afirmó Linguer) entre finales del 2007 y principios del 2008. El pasado mes de Junio editaron el primer single 'You Didn't Care'.
