Lilian Baylis

Lilian Mary Baylis (9 de mayo de 1874, Londres - 25 de noviembre de 1937, Londres) fue una directora de teatro británica y fundadora del teatro Old Vic.

Colaboró con su tía Emma Cons en la administración del Royal Victoria Hall and Coffee Tavern, lugar que convirtió en el Old Vic en 1912 y que fue famoso por sus producciones Shakesperianas. Entre 1914 y 1923, el teatro escenificó todas las obras de William Shakespeare, una proeza que ninguna otra sala de teatral había logrado. En 1931 se encargó del abandonado Sadler's Wells Theatre y lo convirtió en un centro de artes escénicas enfocado a la ópera y el ballet.
