Keratosis

La keratosis es una enfermedad de la piel que consiste en la acumulación de keratina en los folículos de los vellos de la piel. Se presenta en forma de protuberancias blancas o rojas, que a menudo son confundidas con granos.

En términos centrales, esta enfermedad se produce cuando los poros se llenan de células muertas, por lo que se obstruyen. La enfermedad, para muchas personas se mantiene solo en la niñez y adolescencia, pero para otros la enfermedad es de por vida.

Se sabe que la enfermedad es hereditaria y la agravan algunos alimentos y el clima seco.

Población de riesgo

La keratosis afecta a gran cantidad de niños y adolescentes, y frecuentemente aparece en brazos, hombros, y muslos (en algunos casos).

Los tratamientos son con cremas o lociones, pero cuidado ya que si se deja el tratamiento, casi siempre las protuberancias vuelven.
