Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Rogers (n. Houston, Texas, 21 de agosto de 1938) es un cantautor y actor estadounidense.

Este cantante country creció en uno de los sectores más pobres de la ciudad. Su padre, John Rogers, quería que compusiera dos canciones desde que era niño, como las de "The coward of the county" "Ruby don't take your love to town", empezando su carrera artística. Tuvo la influencia de varios músicos de la música country y soul, tales como Nat King Cole, Charlie Daniels, Arthur Alexander y Chuck Berry. En 1977 logró un éxito descomunal con su sencillo "Lucille" que arrasó en las listas estadounidenses de country y además en los rankings de música pop. Biografía

Kenny Rogers es el cuarto de los siete hijos concebidos por Floyd Rogers, un carpintero, y su esposa Lucille, enfermera. Rogers se graduó en la "Jefferson Davis High School" en Houston. De acuerdo con su acta de nacimiento, su segundo nombre es Ray y a veces él es nombrado en los créditos de sus películas como "Kenneth Ray Rogers".
