Keith Gillespie (nacido en Larne, Irlanda del Norte el 18 de febrero de 1975) es un jugador profesional de fútbol. Juega actualmente en el Longford Town de la FAI First Division de Irlanda. Es uno de los mejores pateadores de tiros libres de Irlanda del Norte.

Carrera

Gillespie comenzó su carrera en el Manchester United donde luchó para establecerse como jugador del primer equipo. Formó parte del famoso Manchester United que ganó la Youth Cup de 1992, equipo que incluía a Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Gary Neville y Robbie Savage. Después de jugar un par de años en Old Trafford fue cedido a préstamo al Wigan Athletic, y después vendido al Newcastle United como parte del trato de 7 millones de libras que llevó a Andrew Cole al Manchester United.

Carrera internacional

Gillespie es un miembro del equipo actual de Irlanda del Norte, habiendo sido elegido en la escuadra de 20 hombres para sus partidos del Grupo F de clasificación para el Euro 2008 contra Dinamarca en el Parken Stadium y contra Letonia en el Windsor Park. Es el capitán indiscutido de la selección, por sus años siendo titular en la premier league inglesa y por la cantidad de partidos internacionales con Irlanda del Norte.
