Kaypro

Kaypro era un fabricante de computadoras personales de 1980. Se hizo popular por su línea de ordenadores portables basados en CP/M.

Kaypro comenzó como "Non-Linear Systems", un fabricante de equipamento electrónico de medida, fundado en 1952 por Andrew Kay, el inventor del voltímetro digital.

En 1981, "Non-Linear Systems" inició el diseño de un ordenador personal, llamado KayComp, que fue competidor del popular Osborne 1, microcomputador transportable. En 1982, "Non-Linear Systems" organizó una compañía filial llamada Kaypro y llamó al computador con el mismo nombre.

El primer producto de esta empresa fue el ordenador denominado Kaypro II.
