Alkahest

El alkalhest es el disolvente universal de la alquimia. Un concepto de la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. La palabra, inventada por Paracelso derivada del árabe "alkali", es retomada por Jan Baptista van Helmont. El Alkahest es un elemento que disuelve todos los metales, y por el cual todos los cuerpos terrestres pueden ser reducidos a su ser primitivo, o materia original (Éter), de que están formados. Es una potencia que obra en las formas astrales (o almas) de todas las cosas, capaz de cambiar la polaridad de sus moléculas, y por consiguiente, disolverlas.
