John O'Sullivan (nacido 25 de abril de 1942) es un escritor y periodista británico de ideología conservadora.

Biografía

John O'Sullivan, hijo de padre irlandés y madre británica, es natural de la ciudad inglesa de Liverpool .

Educado por los Irish Christian Brothers en St Mary's College, Crosby , de esta misma ciudad.[1] para posteriormente recibir la enseñanza superior en la Universidad de Londres.

Inicia su carrera política sin éxito, como candidato en las Elecciones generales del Reino Unido, de 1970 por el conservador Como periodista dirige la revista de asuntos internacionales The National Interest, colaborando en la revista política política bi-mensual National Review, fundada por William F. Buckley, Jr.. Miembro del neoconservador Hudson Institute.

Editor en Jefe de la United Press International, también fue un Asesor Especial para la Primera Ministro británica Margaret Thatcher , que le recompensó en el 1991 con la Orden del Imperio Británico en su grado de Comandante del Imperio Británico.

Nueva Iniciativa Atlántica

Fundador y copresidente de la Nueva Iniciativa Atlántica, una organización internacional dedicada a la revitalización y ampliación del grupo de democracias occidentales. La organización fue creada en el Congreso de Praga, celebrado en mayo de 1996 e impulsado por los presidentes Václav Havel y Margaret Thatcher.
