Jigging

El Jigging, también llamado pesca vertical se ha convertido en los últimos años en un fenómeno sin precedentes en la pesca deportiva mundial. Originalmente se practicaba de modo tradicional en Japón y hasta los años 90 no hay noticias de las primeras prácticas en Europa.

Esta práctica, consiste básicamente en el uso de señuelos plomados desde embarcación que son dejados caer libremente al fondo. En este punto, el pescador va realizado movimientos en forma de tirón al tiempo que recogiendo el carrete simulando un pez subiendo a superficie. Esto resulta sumamente atractivo para grandes depredadores de reco hasta el punto que se puede coger piezas de tamaño muy importante.

Habitualmente esta pesca se practica en profundidades a partir de 25 metros. La técnica habitual es ir probando diferentes ritmos de tirones ya sean largos, cortos, espaciados o seguidos y combinaciones de los mismos.


Si bien esta técnica no requiere un equipo especial muy lejano al chambel, simplemente un equipo de acción media-alta dada la talla de las presas, en los dos últimos años están empezando a salir cañas y carretes específicos para el jigging.
