Jerry John Rawlings (nacido Jeremiah Rawlings John el 22 de junio de 1947 en Accra) fue, en dos ocasiones, jefe de Estado de Ghana.

Rawlings intentó un fallido golpe de Estado en 1979, que resultó en su arresto y sentencia a pena de muerte. Sin embargo, antes de la ejecución, fue liberado por un grupo de militares afines que, liderados por el Mayor Boakye Djan, derribó el gobierno militar del General Fred Akuffo en el golpe de 4 de junio de 1979. Ese mismo año se celebraron elecciones y se instaló la tercera república. Sin embargo, Rawlings volvió a liderar un golpe de Estado en 1981 y se instaló en el gobierno junto al partido PNDC (Provisional National Defence Council o Consejo Provisional de Defensa Nacional). Al celebrarse las primeras elecciones en 1992, Rawlings fue elegido presidente, cargo que ocuparía hasta el 2001.
