Roderick T. Long (n. 4 de febrero de 1964) es profesor de filosofía en la Universidad de Auburn (Alabama) y un comentarista político anarcocapitalista. Recibió el B.A. en filosofía de la Universidad de Harvard y su Ph.D. en la Universidad de Cornell. Es también asesor de la facultad de la Universidad de Auburn.

Long fue editor principal del Journal of Libertarian Studies (sucediendo a Hans-Hermann Hoppe) y es académico superior del Ludwig von Mises Institute de Escuela austríaca, que también se encuentra en Auburn. Fue miembro del blog colectivo Liberty and Power y es uno de los editores de Journal of Ayn Rand Studies. Las áreas de su actividad académica incluyen la filosofía griega, psicología moral, la ética, la filosofía de las ciencias sociales y la filosofía política.[1]

Activismo

Long es el fundador y presidente del Molinari Institute, un pequeño grupo de investigación política sobre el anarcocapitalismo (instituciones voluntarias de libre mercado que suplanten por completo las instituciones gubernamentales).[2] El Molinari Institute fue fundado en 2002, y su directiva está compuesta por Jennifer L. McKitrick, John Hasnas, Charles W. Johnson y Brad Spangler. Su nombre proviene del economista belga Gustave de Molinari (1819-1912), quien fue pionero de la teoría liberal libertaria radical. El mismo equipo afín a Long sostiene la Molinari Society, un proyecto que organiza simposios profesionales en varias ciudades estadounidenses y se encuentra afiliada a la American Philosophical Association.[3]
