Harbinger

Harbinger (Lyla Michaels) es un personaje ficticio de DC Comics creado a principios de los años 80. Ella y su asociado, el Monitor, realizaron varias pequeñas apariciones en distintos cómics DC hasta 1985, cuando comenzó la Crisis en Tierras Infinitas (Crisis on Infinite Earths). Previo a la Crisis, Monitor y ella parecían ser simples, aunque algo pomposos, traficantes de armas. En ese tiempo se supo que su nombre era Lyla y que servía al Monitor prácticamente como secretaria.

Historia

Todo aquello cambió en la Crisis, donde adoptó el nombre y apariencia de Harbinger (Heraldo), reveló su poder de dividirse en varios seres que luego pudieran volver a ser uno, y enviar a esos seres a diversos puntos del tiempo y el espacio (incluso a varias realidades). Su objetivo inicial era reclutar la ayuda de los héroes para la lucha del Monitor contra su gemelo malvado, el Antimonitor. Ese conflicto y sus consecuencias fueron el núcleo de la serie Crisis.

Harbinger también fue un personaje central durante Millennium, tuvo protagonismo en algunos números de DC Comics Presents y Titans Spotlight, y fue miembro de los Nuevos Guardianes (New Guardians). Durante el especial Wonder Woman: Secret Files & Origins Nº 3 (mayo de 2002), recibió y aceptó la invitación de trabajar para la nación soberana de Themyscira como historiadora de las amazonas.

Lyla vivió en Themyscira hasta que murió en sus playas durante un asalto ordenado por Darkseid para secuestrar a la recién llegada Supergirl quien también estaba viviendo en la isla en ese momento. Recientemente, se reveló que Harbinger era la versión de un mundo alternativo de Donna Troy.

Tanto Pariah como Harbinger son los únicos personajes a quienes no se les ha ubicado en alguna Tierra de origen antes de Crisis Infinita.
