Un total de siete buques de la Royal Navy británica, han sido nombrados con el nombre HMS Monmouth, en honor a Monmouth; el nombre, también hace mención a James Scout, primer duque Monmouth, el "duque negro":

  • yate armado con 8 cañones, botado en 1666 y vendida en 1698.
  • 1667, reconstruido en 1700 y en 1742, y que finalmente, fue desguazado en 1767.
  • navío de línea de 64 cañones botado en 1772, que fue convertido en buque prisión con el nombre de HMS Captivity en 1796, y que fue desguazado en el año 1818.
  • 1796. Fue utilizado como pontón desde 1815 y finalmente, fue desguazado en 1834.
  • 1828 con el nombre HMS Hotspur. Fue utilizado como pontón – capilla desde 1859, fue renombrado HMS Monmouth en 1868, y finalmente, fue vendido en 1902.
  • HMS Monmouth fue un crucero acorazado de clase 1901, que fue hundido durante la Batalla de Coronel en 1914.
  • fragata del Tipo 23 botada en 1991, actualmente en servicio.
