Alan Chambers

Alan Chambers es el presidente de Exodus International[1] ubicado en Orlando, Florida. Antes de llegar a Exodus, Chambers formó partedel equipo pastoral en Calvary Assembly of God, una de las iglesias más grandes de Orlando.[2]

Como adolescente y joven adulto, Chambers "luchó con la homosexualidad". Actualmente ha "abrazado la heterosexualidad." Está casado con Leslie Chambers y tiene dos hijos.[2] Viaja constantemente y es orador frecuente en conferencias, universidades y en otras instituciones.

Chambers esta envuelto activamente en promover políticas para "preservar y proteger el matrimonio tradicional y a la familia." Testificó ante el comité judicial del estado de Massachusetts sobre los matrimonios del mismo sexo[3] y ha influenciado a miembros del Congreso para iniciar legislaciones en contra de los matrimonios del mismo sexo.[4]

Chambers es miembro del Arlington Group,[5] una colación formada para aprobar legislaciones en contra de los matrimonios de este tipo.

Ha sido entrevistado por varios programas de televisión y radio, así como por la prensa escrita tanto en América del Norte como en Europa, inlucyendo la resivta Time, 20/20 de ABC News, MSNBC’s Buchanan & Press y Nightline de ABC.[6] Sus editoriales han aparecido en "The Orlando Sentinel" y el "The Boston Globe".[2]

Fue puesto en la lista de la revista Charisma como uno de los líderes cristianos top que representan el futuro de la iglesia en Estados Unidos.[2]
