1440p

1440p es una resolución no estándar de 2560 x 1440, esto Indica Unos 3.686.400 pixeles que es el doble de la resolución vertical de 720p.

En otoño de 2006, Chi Mei corporation un fabricante de electrodomésticos, anunció un 1440p en la pantalla de 47 pulgadas en LCD para ser lanzado el segundo trimestre de 2007.[1]

Este formato de resolución es poco común. Para promover esta tecnología algunos fabricantes han creado películas y videojuegos que poseen tal resolución.

Posiblemente 1440p puede ser el formato de TV HD del futuro. Aunque algunos sugieren que el 1080p será un formato mucho más común que 1440p.
