George Howard Darwin.

Sir George Howard Darwin (1845 - 1912), fue un astrónomo destacado del siglo XIX. Fue hijo del célebre biólogo Charles Darwin. George Darwin hizo estudios sobre los siguientes temas:

  • La fuente de energía del Sol (1888).
  • Las formas de esferas de fluido en rotación.
  • Problema restringido de tres cuerpos.
  • El origen de la Luna.

Ganó la Medalla de Oro de la Royal Astronomical Society en 1892, y también sirvió, más tarde, como presidente de la organización.
