Fórmula SAE

La fórmula SAE es una competición de diseño para estudiantes organizada por la Society of Automotive Engineers. La competición consiste en crear un pequeño prototipo de coche de carreras de Fórmula Uno. La competición se creó en 1978 y originalmente fue llamada SAE Mini Indy.[1]

El prototipo es juzgado por diferentes áreas. El esquema de puntos es el siguiente:

Diseño 150
Análisis de Coste y Manufactura 100
Presentación 75
Aceleración 75
Skidpad 50
Autocross 150
Economía de combustible 100
Resistencia 300
Total de puntos posibles 1.000
