FTSE 100

El índice FTSE 100, pronunciado popularmente como Footsie 100, es publicado por el Financial Times.

Lo componen los 100 principales valores ("blue chips") de la Bolsa de Londres (London Stock Exchange). Ftse es un acrónimo de Financial Times Stock Exchange. El principal indicador del FTSE 100 es el FTSE 100 Index. El índice fue desarrollado con un nivel base de 1000 a fecha 3 de enero de 1984

La capitalización de las empresas que componen el índice supone el 70% del valor total del mercado.

Los valores ponderan por el criterio de capitalización.

Se revisa trimestralmente, el primer viernes de marzo, junio, septiembre y diciembre. Las sesiones se desarrollan de lunes a viernes.

Historia

El índice FTSE 100 bate el récord el 19 de septiembre de 2008 de subida con un 9,33 por ciento en plena crisis de las hipotecas subprime.

Esto refleja la remodelación trimestral efectiva el 23 de marzo de 2009.

Hay 100 empresas en el índice, pero un total de 102 anuncios en dos clases de acciones se incluyen para Royal Dutch Shell y Schroders.
