La Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (Escala Wechsler de Inteligencia para Adultos) o WAIS es una prueba general de inteligencia (IQ o CI), publicada en febrero de 1955 como una revisión del test Wechsler-Bellevue (1939, creada por David Wechsler), estandarizado para su uso con adultos de más de 16 años de edad. En esta prueba, la inteligencia se cuantifica como una capacidad global del individuo para actuar útil y racionalmente y desenvolverse con eficacia en el ambiente.
