Entropy es una red Peer-to-peer descentralizada similar a la Freenet o a la GNUnet y que busca el anonimato de sus usuarios. El programa (que también se llama igual) que la mantiene está escrito en lenguaje C y no en Java como su antecesor Freenet. Esto es así para mejorar el rendimiento que ofrecía Freenet, que no era demasiado bueno.

La red de Entropy está separada de la de Freenet, pero los programas/servidor que la mantienen son capaces de conectarse a Freenet. Por el momento la red Entropy es bastante más pequeña que la Freenet, pero mucho más rápida,y todavía está en crecimiento.
