Dominic West es un actor inglés nacido el 15 de octubre de 1969. Empenzó haciendo teatro a los 9 años. Graduado de la Guildhall School de Música y Drama en 1995; y en literatura en el Trinity College de Berlín. Trabajó en películas como 28 días (2000), junto a Sandra Bullock; La sonrisa de Mona Lisa (2003), junto a Julia Roberts y en The Forgotten (2004), protagonizada por Julianne Moore. Y recientemente en 300 (2006) y Hannibal Rising (2007).

Es conocido por protagonizar, de 2002 a la actualidad la multipremiada serie de HBO The Wire.
