Dol Amroth, que significa "Colina de Amroth" en la lengua sindarin, es un lugar ficticio del legendarium del escritor J. R. R. Tolkien. Era el nombre de la capital de Belfalas, una de las regiones y feudos de Gondor. Estaba situada en la orilla de la Bahía de Belfalas, cerca de la desembocadura del Anduin.

Según la tradición, allí huyeron muchos Elfos Silvanos de Lothlórien (el pueblo de Amroth) a mediados de la Tercera Edad del Sol, tras el despertar del Balrog de Moria; y allí se habrían mezclado con los Hombres del lugar. De hecho, tal parece que, en la época de la Guerra del Anillo, habrían efectivamente hombres con sangre élfica viviendo en Dol Amroth; entre ellos su gobernante, el Príncipe Imrahil, uno de los capitanes del Oeste durante la Guerra.

Origen

El origen de Dol Amroth se remonta a los últimos siglos de la Segunda Edad del Sol, cuando una familia Númenóreana, perteneciente a los Fieles, partió de Númenor hacia la Tierra Media, antes de la Caída. Allí se instalaron en las tierras de Belfalas, fundando la ciudad, aunque no sería conocida como Dol Amroth hasta muchos años después.

Tras la fundación de los Reinos en el Exilio en el año 3320 SE, Elendil le concedió al patriarca de la familia el título de Príncipe de Dor-en-Ernil.

Príncipes de Dol Amroth

Los Príncipes de Dol Amroth eran los gobernantes de Belfalas. Su estandarte es un cisne blanco en un fondo azul. Se encontraban solo por debajo del Senescal de Gondor en materia de autoridad en este reino durante la Guerra del Anillo y la restauración del Heredero de Isildur.

La línea fue fundada por Galador, hijo de Imrazôr el Númenóreano, que era Príncipe de Dor-en-Ernil. Por esta razón, los Príncipes de Dol Amroth controlaban también el feudo de Dor-en-Ernil.

Imrahil, el más fuerte de los Príncipes de Dol Amroth, gobernó durante la Guerra del Anillo, además de mantenerse como regente de todo el país, mientras que Faramir, el senescal, se recuperaba en las Casas de Curación y Aragorn no quiso presentarse como Rey.
