Daniel de Morley (n. cerca de 1140 – f. cerca de 1210) fue un filósofo y naturalista británico.

Biografía

Daniel de Morley nació en Norfolk, y estudió en Oxford y en París. Molesto por el escaso trabajo en París, se marchó a Toledo, España, en busca de traducciones en árabe de filosofía griega disponibles para los historiadores medievales después de la conquista de la España islámica.[1]

En España, conoció al famoso traductor Gerardo de Cremona. Pese a que muchos eruditos viajaron hacia Toledo, Daniel de Morley es uno de los pocos de los que se conservaron registros de sus viajes y sus ideas. Después de regresar a Oxford, Daniel escribió varios libros y tratados sobre la cultura árabe y sus pensamientos dirigidos a su patrón John de Oxford, obispo de Norwich, quien deseaba que la ciudad fuese un centro de enseñanza de filosofía griega.
