La Chinese Basketball Association (CBA; Chino, 中国男子篮球职业联赛) es la principal categoría de la Liga de baloncesto de China. Se la conoce comúnmente como CBA. Fundada originalmente en 1956, ha sido numerosas veces cancelada, funcionando en la actualidad ininterrumpidamente desde 1995.[1] Comenzó con 12 equipos, teniendo desde 2007 un número de 16.

En 2005, la liga instauró la "Mou Zuoyun Cup" (牟作云杯), el trofeo con el que se premiaría al campeón de liga. Zuyun, nacido en 1913, fue un miembro de la Selección de baloncesto de China que compitió en los Juegos Olímpicos de Berlín 1936 y posteriormente, como entrenador, fue un pionero en la instauración del deporte de la canasta en su país.[2]

Unos pocos jugadores de la CBA han conseguido llegar a jugar en la NBA, como Yao Ming, Wang Zhizhi, Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue y Mengke Bateer. Por el contrario, el uso de jugadores extranjeros (外援) en la liga china está limitado.
