Cedar Rapids es la segunda ciudad más grande del estado de los Estados Unidos de Iowa y es la casa del contado Linn. La ciudad es a las ambos orilla del Rio Cedar, norte de Iowa City y 100 millas (160,9344 km) este de Des Moines, la ciudad más grande de Iowa y su capital. El ayuntamiento y palacio de justicia son situado en Mays Island, en el Rio Cedar, del centro urbano. Cedar Rapids es una de las pocas ciudades del mundo que tiene oficinas gubernativas en una isla.[1]

Un centro de cultura y arte de Iowa Oriental, la ciudad tiene Museo de Arte de Cedar Rapids, el Teatro Paramont, Teatro de Cedar Rapids y el Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance. Cedar Rapids es un centro económico del estado, en la area primera del Interstate 380 Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Technology Corridor de los contados Linn, Benton, Jones, Johnson, y Washington.[2]
