Según la mitologia griega, Cánace (en griego: Κανάκη) era hija de Eolo y Enareta y amante de Poseidón.

Canace tenía siete hermanos y seis hermanas. Sus hermanos fueron Atamante, Creteo, Deyoneo, Macareo, Perieres, Salmoneo, y Sísifo, Sus hermanas, Alcíone, Arne, Cálix, Pisidice, Perimele y Tanagra.

Con Poseidón, fue la madre de Aloeo, Epopeo, Hopleo, Nireo y Tríope. Se enamoró de su hermano Macareo y tuvo con él una hija, Anfisa, pues desconocían que el incesto es un tabú para los mortales. Cuando su padre descubrió el incesto quiso echar a su nieta a los perros, y envió a Canacea una espada con la que se suicidó. Macareo logró huir a tiempo del castigo de su padre, y se refugió en el santuario de Delfos. Esta historia aparece en Heroidas de Ovidio. Sperone Speroni usó este relato para escribir su famosa obra Canace en 1588.
