La Calle Canal o Canal Street es una calle en la ciudad de Nueva York, que cruza el bajo Manhattan y Nueva Jersey en el oeste (vía el túnel Holland y la I-78) hacia Brooklyn en el este (vía el Puente de Manhattan). Constituye la principal arteria de Chinatown, y la separa de la Pequeña Italia. También forma los límites del barrio de Tribeca y los límites sur de SoHo.

La Calle Canal tomo su nombre de un canal que había sido construido en los años 1800 para drenar las aguas contaminadas de un estanque en Manhattan al al Río Hudson. El estanque fue llenado en 1811, y la Calle Canal fue completada en 1820 siguiendo el mismo patrón que tenía el canal.

A principios del siglo XX, el centro de comercio de joyería en la esquina de la Calle Canal y Bowery, pero se mudó a mediados de siglo a un moderno Distrito diamante de la Calle 47. En la década de 1920 el Citizens Savins Bank construyó una sede abovedada en Bowery, frente a la plaza del Puente de Manhattan, que permanece como un monumento local.[1]

El comediante Jon Stewart se refiere a la reputación de la Calle Canal como un centro para obtener mercancía pirateada el 15 de septiembre de 2008 en un episodio del The Daily Show.[2]
