The Gap Band es una banda norteamericana de R&B, funk y soul, que se fue conocida durante las décadas de 1970 y 1980, con las canciones bailables y baladas románticas. Formada por los hermanos Ronnie, Robert Wilson y Charlie Wilson, la banda al principio se llamó Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band, en 1967, en su ciudadde natal de Tulsa, en el estado americano de Oklahoma; las iniciales del nombre (G A P) fueron adoptadas oficialmente como nombre del grupo el año 1979.
