The Dark Roots of Earth sera el décimo álbum de estudio del grupo estadounidense de Thrash metal que esta previsto a ser publicado en febrero del 2012. Este álbum significo un reencuentro con el ex-baterista Gene Hoglan (quien apareció en el álbum Demonic de la banda, en 1997); que durante la grabación ocupó el campo de Paul Bostaph debido a su lesión. Se espera que Bostaph regrese a la banda para el Tour del álbum.
