Struthanthus es un género de arbustos con 159 especies pertenecientes a la familia Loranthaceae. Es originario de América. Fue descrita por Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius y publicado en Bulletin de la Société Botanique de France 42: 258, en el año 1895. La especie tipo es Struthanthus syringifolius (Mart.) Mart. - Flora 13: 105. 1830.[2]

Descripción

Son plantas herbáceas epífitas escandente, foliadas, con los tallos cilíndricos o cuadrangulares, dioicas. Las inflorescencias se producen en forma de espigas o racimos de tríadas apareadas. El fruto es una baya anaranjada, rojiza o azul; las semillas con endosperma copioso y el embrión de color verde brillante.
