Segno

En notación musical dal segno (a menudo abreviado D.S.)[1] es usado como un marcador para indicar la repetición de un pasaje a partir del símbolo indicado en la figura (segno).

Se utilizan dos variantes:

  • D.S. al coda señala al intérprete repetir desde el segno, y cuando se encuentra una instrucción Al coda, saltar al sígno de coda.
  • D.S. al fine debe repetirse desde el signo hasta el compás marcado con fine (fin).

Una instrucción Al segno indica por otro lado que el intérprete debe saltar hasta el compás donde se encuentre el segno.

En las óperas del Siglo XVIII, las arias dal segno eran una alternativa común a las del tipo da capo, comenzando con un ritornello abierto, que luego se omite en la repetición.
