Mowgli

Mowgli es el nombre del protagonista de la novela El libro de la selva escrita por Rudyard Kipling. Es un niño, que fue robado por el tigre Shere Khan, a muy temprana edad. Al enterarse de la situación, es acogido por la manada de lobos de Seonee , a cambio de un toro recién muerto , pagado por Bagheera.Además de obtener la protección y entrega de educación por parte de Baloo. Al crecer , Mowgli enfrenta muchos peligros que se le presentan , siempre reespaldado por Bagheera , Baloo, Kaa, Hermano Gris y Akela; como enfrentarse a Shere-Khan y darle muerte y vencer a una manada de aproximadamente 200 cuones y desafiar a una peligrosa cobra india.

Por casualidad, conoce a sus padres, Messua y su esposo, ambos, millonarios aldeanos de la India Inglesa, a quienes salva la vida en reiteradas ocasiones.

En la película de dibujos animados de Walt Disney, titulada también El libro de la selva, Mowgli encarna al mismo muchacho curioso y audaz, solo que no se muestran algunas aventuras importantes de este, como la matanza de Shere-Khan, el enfrentamiento con los perros jaros, entre otros. Además tampoco se muestra el reencuentro con sus padres y el hallazgo de los tesoros en las Moradas Frías.
