Huaxia

Huaxia (chino tradicional: 華夏, chino simplificado: 华夏, pinyin: Huáxià) es un nombre usado, con frecuencia, para representar a los grupos étnicos antiguos quién vivían en la Plana Central, y también indica las culturas de ellos. Es la base de la cultura del grupo cultural de Han y influía las culturas en extremo oriente.

Etimología

De acuerdo con el documento histórico Zuo Zhuan, la antigua dinastía Xia de Centro-Este China era un estado que tenía la propiedad y la justicia en alta estima.

El carácter xia significa orginalmente "verano".
