Hemiolia

Hemiolia

El estilo hemiolia es un ritmo musical común en Nigeria (África).

El compás hemiola está formado por la alternancia de compases de 6/8 y compases de 3/4.

Consta de dos compases de tres tiempos (como el compás de 3/4, por ejemplo) ejecutados como si fuesen tres compases de dos tiempos (como el de 2/4). Al ejecutarlos alternadamente da como resultado el patrón rítmico de 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, etc.

Otra manera de analizarlo es como la alternancia entre un compás de 6/8 (1-2-3, 1-2-3) y un compás de 3/4 (1-2, 1-2, 1-2).
