Audie Leon Murphy (20 de junio de 1924, Texas - 28 de mayo de 1971, Virginia) fue un militar y actor estadounidense.

Se enroló en el Ejército en 1942. Fue el soldado norteamericano más condecorado de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En una ocasión saltó encima de un tanque en llamas para usar su ametralladora sobre las tropas enemigas. En 1945 recibió la Medalla de Honor.

Gracias a su heróico estatus, se convirtió en actor de películas después de la guerra, protagonizando filmes como The Red Badge of Courage (1951), To Hell and Back (1955) y El americano impasible (1958). Murió cuando su avión privado se estrelló. Fue sepultado en el Cementerio de Arlington con plenos honores militares.
