Vicente Carvallo y Goyeneche

Vicente Carvallo y Goyeneche ( * Valdivia, Chile, 1742 - † Buenos Aires, 12 de mayo de 1816) fue un cronista y militar español.

Autor de una Descripción Histórico-Geográfica del Reino de Chile (1796), obra que permaneció inédita por 80 años, hasta que fue publicada entre 1875 y 1876 por el bibliógrafo José Toribio Medina. El texto de divide en dos secciones; en la primera, Carvallo hace una narración pormenorizada de los hechos ocurridos entre la Conquista de Chile y el año 1789; la segunda consiste en una descripción de todas las provincias del país y de las costumbres de los mapuches.
