Trío sonata

La trío sonata es una forma musical que fue particularmente popular durante los Siglos XVII y XVIII.

Una trío sonata está escrita para dos instrumentos melódicos solistas y bajo continuo, haciendo las tres partes un todo, de el nombre trio sonata. Sin embargo, debido a que el bajo continuo consta habitualmente de al menos dos instrumentos (usualmente un chelo o viola da gamba y un instrumento de teclado como el clavecín), las trío sonatas son interpretadas generalmente por al menos cuatro músicos. Las trío sonatas de Arcangelo Corelli (opus I, 1681, opus III, 1689) son un destacado ejemplo.

Los instrumentos melódicos empleados son habitualemten dos violines. Una conocida excepción es la trío sonata de la Ofrenda musical de Johann Sebastian Bach, que es para violin y flauta.

  • Johann Sebastian Bach, trío sonatas BWV 1036–1039. Some of these are of doubtful attribution, but all are typical of baroque chamber music. Están escritas para bajo continuo y dos violines, excepto la 1039 que está escrita para dis fluatas y bajo continuo (que coincide con la BWV 1027).
  • Dieterich Buxtehude, Op. 1, Seis trío sonatas y la Op. 2, siete trío sonatas. Escritas para violín, viola da gamba y bajo continuo. Fueron las únicas obras de Buxtehude que fueron publicadas durante su vida.
  • George Frideric Handel trío sonatas op.2 y op.5
  • Georg Philipp Telemann unas 150 trío sonatas, la mayoría en el estilo de Corelli.
  • Johann Pachelbel, Musikalische Ergötzung ("Delicia musical"), contiene seis trío sonatas para dos violines y bajo continuo. Partitura musical original en scordatura.
  • Antonio Vivaldi, 12 trío sonatas da camera op.1 y 2 sonatas op.5.
  • Jan Dismas Zelenka, seis trío (o cuarteto) sonatas, ZWV 181. Orquestadas para dos oboes, fagot y bajo continuo. Estas piezas son de extrema dificultad técnica y contiene partes muy exigentes para fagot y oboe.
