The Dance es un EP grabado y editado en 1998 por el grupo holandés Within Temptation. El sonido en estas canciones es más gótico y más enérgico que en el álbum Enter. Este EP se considera muy importante en su dicografía ya que marcó un antes y un después entre Enter y Mother Earth. También se hicieron EP de la banda para promocionarse y dar a conocer sus discos, como "Stand My Ground", "Memories o "Angels", pero esos EP se consideran promocionales como si fueran singles, pero este EP no, es especial en su carrera discográfica. Es más, aunque es un EP, en su página web oficial se toma como un álbum.

El video de la canción "The Dance" ha llevado muchas confusiones, llevando a pensar a los seguidores que simplemente se trataba de un video fake realizado por algún fan. Sin embargo, este video animado con unos dibujos muy simples y sencillos, se ha confirmado en diferentes entrevistas de la banda, que es el video oficial de la canción "The Dance". Ver video
