Teocalli
El teocalli de Cholula

Un teocalli (palabra náhuatl que significa: "Calli, Casa o Recinto" y "Teotl, Energía/Fuerza" y no "Dios" como mal suele traducirse) es una pirámide mesoamericana coronada por un templo. Dicha pirámide es de terrazas y muchos rituales religiosos mexicanos del México pre-colombino tuvieron lugar en dichos templos.

El poeta cubano José María Heredia compuso un poema titulado En el teocalli de Cholula.

En la cultura chicana moderna se refiere a la Iglesia Nativa Americana como "teocalli".

El más famoso teocalli azteca, ahora inexistente, se localizaba en el zócalo de la Ciudad de México, D.F.

Cu es el vocablo, de origen maya, empleado por Bernardino de Sahagún en su Historia general de las cosas de la Nueva España para referirse a este tipo de pirámides.
