Ted Fortsmann (Greenwich (Connecticut), Connecticut, 13 de febrero de 1940 - Nueva York, Nueva York (estado), 20 de noviembre de 2011) abogado y empresario estadounidense, fue uno de los socios fundadores de "Forstmann Little & Company", una firma de capital privado, después de viajar al país para reunirse con Nelson Mandela.

Theodore Joseph Forstmann se graduó de la Escuela de Greenwich Country Day, Phillips Academy, Universidad de Yale y la Escuela de Derecho de la Universidad de Columbia con un doctorado jurídico. En Yale fue miembro de la fraternidad Delta Kappa Epsilon. Es generalmente conocido como "Ted".

Forstmann, un abogado, fundada en 1978 Forstmann poco con su hermano Nicholas C. Forstmann, quien más tarde murió de cáncer de pulmón, y William Brian Little. Ted Forstmann el segundo hermano, Anthony J. Forstmann, fundada ForstmannLeff.

Forstmann ha estado en la Lista de Forbes 400 estadounidenses más ricos de 1998 a 2005, pero cayó de la lista de 2006, ya que su riqueza no mantenerse al día con los $ 1 mil millones para ese año de corte de la lista. Falleció el 20 de noviembre de 2011 a los 71 años a causa de cáncer cerebral.[1]
