Taxman es una canción del grupo The Beatles, lanzada como la primera canción del álbum Revolver (con lado B "Eleanor Rigby"). Ésta canción fue escrita por el músico británico George Harrison, (se dice que John Lennon ayudó a Harrison con algunas estrofas de la canción). Ésta canción es reconocida por sus grandes tonos de guitarras que llegó a tomar 3 semanas de las listas de canciones (En la gran mayoría de Europa y en América Estados Unidos y México ).

Composición

La canción hacía referencia al abusivo tipo de impuesto sobre las renta que pagaba la gente con grandes ingresos, como los Beatles, que a veces llegaba a alcanzar el 95% de sus ganancias. En años posteriores, esto llevaría a muchos músicos de primera línea a exiliarse para evitar pagar impuestos.

Grabación

Taxman fue escrita y grabada entre el 20 y el 22 de abril de 1966. La letra de la canción normalmente empezaba "There´s 1 for you 19 for me", pero Harrison pensó que estaba muy vacía y agregó "Let me tell you how it will be". Harrison le pidió a Paul McCartney que colaborara con las guitarras y él (George Harrison) con el bajo de cuatro cuerdas, Paul le respondió que sí (Paul tocó el solo de guitarra de Taxman).
