Stenotrophomonas es un género de bacterias Gram-negativas.[1] Tiene especies en lugares de organismos del suelo comunes (S. nitritireducens) a patógenos oportunistas humanos (S. maltophilia).

La taxonomía molecular del género sigue aún poco clara.[2]
